Last week, I had the pleasure of getting a visit from one of my all time favorite women, Marisa of New Dress a Day, at the Penny Chic HQ. I love her blog because she shows people how to re-make old or vintage pieces into clothes that are stylish and flattering and (most importantly) that they’ll love to wear. She’s also a published author and has a book out called (wait for it) “New Dress a Day” that has a plethora of fun designer projects you can do yourself!

Marisa brought over this fabulous blue number second-hand, but it looked a little different when she first bought it. Read about how she transformed it over on her site!

In honor of the Golden Globes, we styled the dress into a red carpet-ready ensemble, complete with a pop of color on the wrist, a little sparkle in the clutch, and just a little bit of “edge” with the iridescent booties.

What do you think– so fab, right?
